Lake Claremont has been a multi-use parkland and golf course that has been made a Bush Forever and Conservation Category Wetland site. Due to the impact of clearing the bushland for the golf course, the area has now been targeted for rehabilitation to try and establish a link to surrounding fragmented bushland between Kings Park, Bold Park and the coast. This is a known roosting site for the endangered Carnaby’s Cockatoo which frequent this corridor in search of food and shelter.

Ingham staff will have the opportunity assist Conservation Volunteers and the Friends of Lake Claremont on our Adopt A Spot program, removing exotic species to protect the native vegetation and to increase the habitat values and biodiversity.
