The D’Entrecasteaux and Huon Collaboration marine debris clean-ups bring together community groups, local tourism operators, aquaculture companies, Councils and State Government to look after the health of our waterways. The Huon Marine Debris Clean-up is scheduled for May 11.
Small groups of volunteers, with a supervisor will be allocated sections of coastline. Boats will collect the debris bags from different locations and bring them back to the main site for sorting and counting. Lunch will be from 12:30—1:30 PM. Sorting, analysing and counting rubbish should be finished by 2:30 PM.
A BBQ lunch will be provided with salmon, meat, vegan and vegetarian options available. We are unable to cater for any special dietary requirements (gluten intolerant, etc.) so please feel free to bring your own.
Sturdy shoes. appropriate clothing for the day/layers (warm clothes, hat, jacket, beanie, spare socks)
