Whiteman Park is a unique recreation and conservation reserve and a major tourist destination. It is also thought to be the largest metropolitan park in the world. The 4000 hectare park boasts healthy and lush banksia woodland corridors and is home to over 450 native plant species and 120 native animals.
Whiteman Park has a history of mixed uses including farming and large areas of ex pasture are slowly being converted to native bushland. We will be helping the rangers at Whiteman Park to remove invasive weeds that are around last year’s planting sites. This will improve the biodiversity of the area and encourage the growth of the native flora and fauna.
