The Great Victorian Rail Trail between Mansfield and Tallarook provides a biodiversity corridor across the
region. The trail traverses four critically endangered vegetation communities including native grasslands and grassy woodlands which contain many regionally and nationally threatened species such as the Striped Legless Lizard, Brush-tailed Phascogale and the Late-flower Flax-lily.
The trail provides an important ecological function allowing species to migrate between patches of remnant
bushland, waterways and state forest. The trail requires ongoing maintenance to achieve biodiversity outcomes, and this project will focus on weed control along the rail trail corridor.
This is a three day residential project with accomodation and food provided.
