It’s Owl season in Gippsland and CVA are implementing the Gippsland Owl Research and Monitoring Program to help save four endangered owl species: Powerful Owl, Barking Owl, Masked Owl and Sooty Owl.
These incredible and threatened species need healthy habitats in order to survive. In combination with night monitoring sessions (see Gippsland Owl Projects - nights) these day sessions will involve habitat restoration such as planting, weeding, and maintenance to support native areas for these noctural birds to thrive. Come get your hands dirty to help the Owls!
Free transport will be provided from Traralgon train station at 08am, or you can meet us on site with prior arrangement. Daily work sites will vary from day to day, as they will be undertaken at strategic sites indentified as key potential habitat for owl species in Gippsland.
