The spectacular foreshore areas within the City of Port Phillip extend for 11.16 kilometres from Port Melbourne, through St Kilda and to Elwood. Although in a highly urbanised environment, the foreshore area makes up a substantial contribution to the biodiversity within the City of Port Phillip and remains as one of the most important habitats for a range of coastal fauna species. More than 50 bird species have been recorded in the foreshore area which includes Chestnut Teal, Pacific Black Duck, Rainbow Lorikeet and Crimson Rosellas.
The activities for each day will be based around Port Melbourne, and we'll be involved in a range of activities including planting new trees to help conserve the natural habitat within the area, removing weeds from the area, mulching, watering and assisting with beautification of the area.
