Earth Day marks the anniversary of the start of the modern environmental movement that began in 1970. The theme of Earth Day 2021 is Restore our Earth. Help us restore our earth by taking care of our native trees in Mount Victoria.
Do you want to help create habitat for our native lizards, insects, and birds such as tui and kaka? Lend a hand with pest weed and predator control at the Forest at the Heart of Wellington on Mount Victoria. Volunteering is a great way to get to know Wellington's natural places and to meet new people. Tools, training, and transportation provided.
What to wear/bring: sturdy boots or gumboots, long sleeves and pants, a hat/beanie, a drink bottle and some food.
What we provide: gloves, tools, high-vis vests, an experienced team leader, training.
Email firstname.lastname@example.org to register or sign up on our website.
We will be following the advice from government and local council on all Covid-19 restrictions.
So volunteer on Earth Day 2021, come on your own or bring a friend, meet new people and learn about how to protect your environment!
