In partnership with Christchurch City Council, CVNZ are part of an exciting long term regeneration project along the Otakaro Avon River Corridor. This 'Green Spine' forms the core of the regeneration area and at 11km long it follows the river out to the Estuary, featuring swathes of restored native habitat, trails, community spaces, riverside landings and local information about the area. Over the past few years, Christchurch City Council staff, organisations and volunteers have planted tens of thousands of native plants in areas along the Green Spine. This year CVNZ volunteers are planting at four different sites along the river corridor, and Dallington Terrace is one of them.
Dallington Terrrace is located right next to the awa/river on the edge of the red zone. Join us as we plant to help regenerate this area.
Plantings at Dallington Terrace are on the following dates, and we'd love to have you join us!
Wednesday 21 June : 9:30am-12:30pm
Wednesday 12 July: 1-4pm
Thursday 20 July: 10:30am-1pm
Thursday 27 July: 10:30am-1pm
Wednesday 30 Aug: 1-4pm
To access the site, turn off River Rd or McBratneys Rd into Dallington Terrace. Parking is along Dallington Tce. Please note that sections of this site are steep and right beside the water, so this project is not recommended for young children or those not steady on their feet.
Please bring:
