In Canberra we are lucky to be surrounded by areas of great natural beauty, most notably the towering mountains to our south. We will be heading out to those mountains in Cooma to help out with some weeding in order to create biodiversity in mountain ecosystems.

We will be out in the fresh air getting our hands dirty to help care for our local environment. Weeding is a very important conservation activity as weeds outcompete native plants, which means lower habitat quality for native birds and animals. Weeds can also be bad for streams and other waterways if they clog them with their roots or allow high levels of runoff, which lowers water quality.

What you can expect:

-Weeding

-Creating biodiversity in a beautiful mountain ecosystem

-Being out in nature with nice people

-Helping landholders look after the land

-Recognition of your efforts
