Want to help create a living legacy for our city? CVNZ will be planting 37, 000 kahikatea in Cranford Basin this winter, and we need your help! These seedlings will grow up to become the largest stand of kahikatea in Åtautahi Christchurch since pre-European times. Help plant this forest and be part of the larger vision to create our biodiverse-city.
Cranford Basin is a natural ponding and storm water management area, critical to reducing the flood risk to urban Christchurch.
Tuesday 20th April 1-3pm: Come along and help us lay out plants for a planting on Earth Day, 21st April.
Friday 28 May 1-3pm: Help us lay out plants for the Community Planting on Saturday 29
Meeting point: 103 Philpotts Rd, Mairehau.
Gumboots or waterproof boots are essential as this can be a very wet site.
