Conservation Volunteers in partnership with Cornwall Park Trust Board will be running a variety of activities in Cornwall Park this week.
Donated to the people of Auckland by Sir John Logan Campbell, Cornwall Park is known for its large open spaces, landscape design and beautiful mature trees. It is centred on a volcanic cone, Maungakiekie (One Tree Hill), with many interesting geological features. A pre-European Maori fortification (pa) was built on the cone, many features of which can still be seen.
The main activities this week will be centred in the on-site nursery where the team will be pricking out seedlings, laying weed mat, potting on, and assisting with the maintenance needs of the nursery and greenhouse.
