Cornish Hill Smith & Wombat Creek Protection Project Daylesford
A small but active group of volunteers called The Friends of Cornish Hill, coordinate an ongoing program of work to remove the weeds from sections along Smiths Creek.
The Friends of Cornish Hill are focussed on protecting existing flora especially the wildflower patch, plant local species where appropriate, enhancing Smiths Creek as part of the catchment of Wombat creek, maintaining the naturally occurring grasslands, removing pest weeds in designated areas and promoting an understanding and appreciation of native bushland as habitat for native birds and animals.
Conservaton Volunteers Australia are helping Friends of Cornish Hill to conserve and protect the special plants and animals that call the place home by a program of weeding, brushcutting around plantings, planting and general maintenance.
