Come and spend time this Spring and Autumn at the Mighty Murray River! Join this new program that aims to improve the health of the Paiwalla and Sunnyside Wetlands. Volunteers will be involved in a variety of activities including controling invasive weeds, helping with tree guards of exisiting plants, planting local native species, restoring tracks and trails and assisting with the community Discovery Day Bio Blitz on the 2nd November.

The BioBlitz will be undertaken as part of the Paiwalla and Sunnyside Reserve Discovery Day. Help the team to record birds, frogs, bats, turtles and vegetation to obtain baseline data that will allow the effects of the water management strategy to be determined.

This project is funded through the Riverine Recovery ‘Fund My Project’ grants program provided by the Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources. The Wetland Habitat Trust is a group of dedicated locals who own, love and manage Paiwalla Wetland for habitat conservation. They also just took on the management of neighbouring Sunnyside Wetland!

Enjoy a day or two at this beautiful location whilst getting to know this amazing group of people who need some extra hands.
