Predator Control Training - Auckland Council and Conservation Volunteers New Zealand
Bring Back the Birds to our Auckland Parks!
Be an environmental champion - help us on this exciting project to save Auckland‘s native wildlife!
Animal pests (rodents and possums) compete with native birds for food and raid their nests for chicks and eggs. They also feed on a wide range of native plants, lizards and invertebrates. Your parks need your help to prevent this destruction
If you are interested in taking part, come along to one of our two training sessions.
When training is completed you’ll be assigned to one of the parks in which this programme operates where you’ll bait and reset traps and record the catches you make. You can choose when you walk your own track, so you can do it at a time that suits you. Ideally you will live or work locally to the pest control area. Once you’ve finished your line check, you enter your results into a web based database called Catch IT.
What to Wear: Sturdy boots or shoes, Long pants, long-sleeved shirt.
Bookings are essential. If you would like to register please call 0800 56 76 86 or email info@cvnz.co.nz
