Connecting People to Parks
Every Tuesday Conservation Volunteers are out and about at different parks around Auckland.
It’s part of an initiative between Conservation Volunteers New Zealand and the Auckland Council to help bring biodiversity back to our central parks and to give people who are interested in conservation an opportunity to get involved.
This week we are at Manukau Domain, a beautiful reserve in Lynfield with open spaces and regenerating native bush which provides habitat for native species. The domain sits on the shores of the Manukau Harbour so is an important natural filter of overland flows before it reaches the ocean. Come join us for native pest plant management, native tree planting and other conservation activities.
Conservation Volunteers experienced team leaders guide the programme and aim to teach volunteers about all aspects of conservation, including plant identification and planting techniques.
