Connecting People to Parks

Every Tuesday CVNZ are out and about at different parks around Auckland.

It’s part of an initiative between CVNZ and the Auckland Council to help bring biodiversity back to our central parks and to give people who are interested in conservation a chance to get involved.

Join the CVNZ team for a day of conservation activities. This week we will visit Howlett Reserve in Waterview. Howlett reserve sits along the new Howlett-Waterview Esplanade, which is 700m long along one bank near the mouth of Oakley Creek and the harbour, connecting Howlett Reserve and Waterview Reserve. As part of the make-over of the area, many invasive plants and weed species have been removed and the walkway re-planted with more than 7000 native trees and shrubs. A new pathway has also been laid, providing safe access in all weathers.

Experienced team leaders guide the programme and aim to teach volunteers about all aspects of conservation, including plant identification and planting techniques.

Join us and help out your local parks.
