The Samford Eco-Corridor project began in 2013 with the aim of restoring biodiversity to waterways and connecting riparian habitats along the South Pine River. Since the program’s inception, over 6000 trees have been planted to recreate a section of “Gallery Rainforest on Alluvial Plains”, a habitat type that is currently not protected in any Queensland reserves. The project site contains 120 species of native plants and provides critical habitat for threatened species such as koalas and platypus.

Join CVA as we support the collective efforts of different stakeholder groups including Land For Wildlife property owners, UQ, MBRC Bushcare volunteers and the Brisbane Rainforest Information and Action Network to connect riparian zones along the South Pine River!

This project is a great way to network and gain hands on skills for a career in conservation while making a real difference to our environment.

If this project is fully booked but you are able to make your way to and from the project site we would love to have you on board, simply contact our Brisbane office via phone or email and we can manually add you on to the project.

Remember to wear long pants, a long sleeved shirt, enclosed shoes, a hat, sunglasses and please bring your lunch and plenty of water.

CVA would like to thank Moreton Bay Regional Council for funding this project through their Community Grants program and for their ongoing committments to supporting diverse and healthy ecosystems.
