Moonah Park lies along the Barwon River and offers plenty of shade as well as great views and walking tracks, and is the perfect spot for a relaxing day out, basking in the ambiance of the wonderful scenery. This stand of endangered Coastal Moonah Woodland is vulnerable to environmental weed invasion, foot traffic, and pressures of expanding coastal settlements.

Moonah Woodlands support many animals, including the Long-nosed Bandicoot, Southern Forest Bat, Black Wallaby and Southern Grass Skink however it is unclear how many mammals still inhabit these places. Many birds, insects and local orchids also call these environments home.

To look after Moonah woodlands it is vital to minimise trampling, unplanned tracks and to encourage revegetation.

We will provide transport from South Geelong each day, departing at 8.00am and returning around 4pm. Or if you live local you can meet on-site by prior arrangement.
