Kingston Park is a 12.5 hectare park with one of the last remaining remnant areas of grassy woodland on the Bellarine Peninsula. Part of the park is a fenced off conservation area, providing habitat for the plants and animals that are local to the park.

This grassy woodland contains species of plants not found elsewhere, including the rare and threatened Bellarine Yellow Gum. The variety of plants attracts a richness of birdlife to feed and nest, as well as older trees containing hollows for possums, nesting birds asnd bats.

This area is actively managed by the City of Greater geelong’s Conservation Reserves Team, but they need some help to get on top of the weeds this year. Join us for a relaxing day of hand weeding under the tall trees. You will learn identification skills, meet new friends and get out and about in one of the Bellarine's best kept secrets.

We will provide transport from South Geelong, departing at 8.15am and returning around 4pm. Volunteers need to bring their lunch and a bottle of water, as well as wear long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, and boots or sturdy shoes. It is also recommended that volunteers bring and use a broad-brimmed hat, sun-screen (30+) and insect repellent.
