As part of a large community collaboration project between the D’Entrecasteaux and Huon Collaboration, CVA will be taking part in a couple of community beach clean up in the South.
This project will focus on the serious detrimental impact of marine debris caused by increasing tourism, commercial fishing, recreational activities and marine farming. The pollution caused by marine debris and the harm it has on marine and birdlife is a significant issue for Australia.
This project will engage large numbers of community volunteers to remove, identify, monitor and document the coastal debris in the region, while recognising that the most effective way to reduce the impact of marine debris is to prevent it from entering the marine environment.
