Brookfield Conservation Park, located 128km from Adelaide, provides one of the last safe-havens for Southern Hairy-nosed Wombats. Conservation activities to re-establish native grassland areas provide vital food for the wombat. In addition, the research station at Brookfield CP enables scientists, students and volunteers to better understand the devastating effects of the emerging health issue of the wombats and assist in developing long term management strategies.

One of only 2 hairy-nosed wombat species in the world, the Southern Hairy-nosed Wombat is a state faunal emblem and local icon. Vital habitat restoration activities and important research at Brookfield Conservation Park will assist the species to overcome challenges and ensure that the wombat's do indeed have a Wild Future in South Australia.

This project is funded by the Global Giving program. Generous donations through this program have provided the support we need for these activities to occur.

Come along, meet like-minded people and help with surveying of wildlife and vegetation, as well as park maintenance including fencing and weed management. Join our team of volunteers in activities which are focused on protecting the wombats and their habitat.
