Brooker Ave Reserve is located in the red zone area of Otautahi/Christchurch, and is part of the Avon-Otakaro Forest Park's vision to create a forest that follows the length of the Avon River out to the sea.

The Reserve is a transitional project that will grow, establish and maintain native plants in the reserve, alongside school groups and the local community. It will also provide habitat for native wildlife as well as a place for people to enjoy.

We'll be helping the AOFP to mulch and weed their recent plantings.

The project will be from 9:30am-12:30pm, but feel free to come for whatever time you can.

Bring: Your own gardening gloves, sturdy boots or shoes, a water bottle and sunhat. As part of our health and safety protocol, CVNZ requires volunteers to wear long sleeves and trousers as protection from the sun and vegetation.

We’ll supply tools, but you are welcome to bring your own - hedge shears or flax knives are most useful.

We'd love to see you there, so please register below. Contact Donna (dlusby@cvnz.org.nz) 021 457 568 for more information.
