Brooker Ave Reserve is located in the red zone area of Otautahi/Christchurch, and is part of the Avon-Otakaro Network's vision to create a forest that follows the length of the Avon River out to the sea.
The Reserve is a transitional project that will grow, establish and maintain native plants in the reserve, alongside school groups and the local community. It will also provide habitat for native wildlife as well as a place for people to enjoy.
We'll be helping the AON to mulch and weed their plantings.
The project will be from 9:30am-12:30pm, but feel free to come for whatever time you can.
Gloves, tools and morning tea will be provided. Please wear sturdy, closed-toe footwear, a sunhat, and bring along a water bottle. We recommend lightweight long sleeves and trousers as protection from the sun and vegetation.
We'd love to see you there, so please register below. Contact Donna (dlusby@cvnz.org.nz) 021 457 568 for more information.
COVID-19: We will be following the advice from government and local council on all Covid-19 restrictions.
