The Brookby Wildlife habitat project on the Auld farm has a mass revegetation project underway and to date the site has been planted out by manyschools and various community groups.
The aim of the project is to regenerate native bush in the valleys and steep hillsides linking together some remnant bush lands.
The habitat restoration work will increase biodiversity values of the region as well as providing a good food source for the abundant birdlife found in the region such as tuis and wood pigeons and will protect the headwaters of the Papakura and Wairoa Streams.
Across the farm of 400 acres over 70 acres are under bush land.
This week the team will do a variety of tasks including cutting and pasting weed trees and planting.
Bookings are essential. Please call 0800 56 76 86 or email info @cvnz.org.nz for more information.
