Conservation Volunteers are running a community campaign to remove plastics from Breakfast Creek. By conducting clean-ups and cataloguing the collected litter the community can identify common items found and where possible work towards a community driven solution to mitigating the impact of plastics in waterways. All debris that is collected from these activities will be recorded and the data will be provided to the Tangaroa Blue Foundation for analysis, a national database on marine debris which helps to identify source polluters
By combining citizen science with on ground action we will enable people to make valuable contributions to conservation. The data that is collected and stored is valuable to future research and gaining a deeper understanding of a problem through citizen science can facilitate learning and personal change in individuals and drive change in communities.
If this project is fully booked but you are able to make your way to and from the project site we would love to have you on board, simply contact our Brisbane office via phone or email and we can manually add you on to the project.
