Bothamley Park is a large Y-shaped park which is sandwiched between the suburbs of Cannons Creek and Aotea in Porirua. Part of an award winning long term restoration project run by Porirua City Council, the park has a walking track running its entire length and is currently in various stages of reforestation. The environment in the park is a mixture of old-stand native forest, ornamental exotic trees, and regenerating native bush. Being located in close proximity to Belmont Regional Park, Bothamley Park is an important ecological corridor and is the home to a number of threatened bird and plant species.
Join us and the Aotea Conservation Volunteer Community Group as we we tackle invasive weeds and prevent them from smothering native seedlings.
Free transport from Wellington and Porirua available.
