Marine debris is becoming a gobal environmental issue. It is estimated that approximately 6.4 million tons of litter is ending up in the world's oceans every year. This is a serious problem as marine debris has a wide variety of negative impacts for human, wildlife and sensitive aquatic habitats, including the highly publicised injury and fatality to marine life through entanglement or ingestion.

Thanks to INGHAMS, CVA Adelaide is going to undertake five days of coastal bird species survey and removing marine debris from the Adelaide Bird Sanctuary to protect the local marine environment, including the endangered, migratory Far Eastern Curlew.

Rubbish collected will be quantified to obtain data regarding type and potential origin of the debris.

Join us now to help combat this important global issue and see some amazing migratory birds!
