Join our volunteer team to help remove invasive weeds and plant native species within the Pinkerton Forest - a registered Land For Wildlife site containing critically endangered grassy woodlands.

In partnership with Pinkerton Landcare and Environment Group, the long term goal of this project is to connect the Pinkerton Forest with other remnant woodlands nearby. To achieve this, we will need your assistance to remove environmental weeds including Boxthorn and Galenia which often out-complete and take over the native vegetation. Your help is also needed to plant native understory and grass species. Your assistance will prevent the native vegetation from becoming extinct and provide a greater habitat network for wildlife.

On the 10th of July our focus will be planting, while the weed removal will take place on the 17th of July.

Since restoration works began in 1992, native wildflowers and birdlife have returned and are now abundant. Pinkerton Forest is the perfect place for bird lovers so don’t forget to bring your binoculars!
