Join the CVNZ for a morning of planting at Heron Park and enjoy a BBQ once the trees are in the ground. Heron park holds the confluence of two creeks which empty into the Waitemata Harbour. Ecological restoration of this area will focus on enrichment planting along the banks of both creeks. River bank planting will reduce water temperature improving habitat for invertebrates in the creeks, provide additional habitat for native birds and improve water quality.
