Bees are vital for the environment and provide one of the most important ecosystem services which is what makes food production possible: pollination. Bees also act as environmental indicators which means that their presence, absence or quantity tells us when something is happening in the environment.
Join CVA and Hive Haven on Saturday 17th August at the Baringa Community Centre at 9am to celebrate and learn all about bees! The morning will include a presentation from Hive Haven about the amazing work that they do for bee conservation, how you can look after bees in your garden and a morning tea where you will have the opportunity to sample some delicious local honeys!
Please RSVP by Thursday 15th August and bring along a gold coin donation for Hive Haven if you would like to purchase a specially designed pollinator mix for your garden.
This event is completely free and open to people of all ages, so bring your kids and grandparents along for a morning of educational fun!
