Axedale River Reserve Conservation Project

Come join your local Conservation Volunteers team as we help to look after this beautiful reserve located in Axedale, Victoria.

Located just 20km out of Bendigo is the township of Axedale. Nestled along the banks of the Campaspe river, the township has stood since 1861. Along the banks of the river is located the Axedale River Reserve. This reserve has seen a significant amount of work carried out to it over the last few years. Funded by the North Central Catchment Management Authority, several crack williows and other weed species were removed from the southern section of the reserve.

Conservation Volunteers are coming in to help to continue the previous efforts carried out in the Reserve. Volunteers will be helping to maintain the established garden beds and young plants in the southern area of the reserve, and also help to begin weed removal from the northern section of the reserve.
