Join us as we be work alongside volunteers from Richmond Community Gardens to help establish a Fungi Farm.
This exciting project is a collaboration between a number of organisations and local artists to create a nature play site with education specifically around fungi. We will be planting the fungi farm with native plants to extend an existing berm and also with fruit trees that will be espaliered in the garden beds to provide cover, encouraging the growth of mushrooms and other fungi.
We'll be there from 9:30am-12:30pm. Bring gloves, a water bottle and wear clothing suitable for the weather. We provide all tools, a friendly team leader.
Parking is at the cul de sac at the end of Evelyn Couzins Ave.
Bring: Your own gardening gloves, sturdy boots or shoes, a water bottle and sunhat. CVNZ encourages volunteers to wear long sleeves and trousers as protection from the sun and vegetation.
We’ll supply tools, but you are welcome to bring your own.
We'd love to see you there, so please register below. Contact Donna (dlusby@cvnz.org.nz) 021 457 568 for more information.
Note: Christchurch City Council requires volunteers to provide a vaccine passport to volunteer in their parks and reserves, so please bring yours along.
COVID-19: We will be following the advice from government and local council on all Covid-19 restrictions.
