This week Conservation Volunteers will visit Waitawa Regional Park, one of Auckland's Southern Parks where we will be carrying out a range of vital conservation activities.
Each of the Southern Parks of Auckland are varied and unique. Waitawa Regional Park is one of Auckland Councils most recent acquisitions and is being transformed into a recreational park with large areas of land being returned to native bush. Waitawa is located on the shores of the Hauraki Gulf and enjoys views out to Waiheke Island and beyond to Coromandel.
Activities we are likely to be helping out with here are planting, weed control, track construction and maintenance, beach clean ups, tidying amenity gardens and mulching.
