This week Conservation Volunteers will visit Tapapakanga Regional Park, one of Auckland's Southern Parks where we will be carrying out a range of vital conservation activities.
Each of the Southern Parks of Auckland are varied and unique. Many native bird species call this park home, from shorebirds such as pied stilt, and variable oystercatcher to forest birds such as kereru and tui.
Tapapakanga is located on the shores of the Hauraki Gulf and enjoys views out to Coromandel Peninsula.
Activities will likely be planting, weed control, track construction and maintenance, beach clean ups, tidying amenity gardens and mulching.
