This project has a focus on protecting and improving habitats for Sand Goannas, and to encourage the reintroduction of the Atlas moth species A.wardi. The site spans mangrove, coastal dune, monsoon rainforest and paperbark swamp environments within the Casuarina Coastal Reserve. We will be removing invasive weed species using different eradication methods, conducting photo point surveys, collecting seeds, and revegetating the site with native habitat and food plants for both species. Join us for a day and learn about how you can help restore you local, natural environments.
