Grassy woodlands are an important and endangered ecosystem, and you can help to look after them in the local area. We will be helping Carwoola landholders to help protect this nationally significant ecosystem which is home to many rare and engendered plants, birds, and animals.
After a fire four months ago we will be lending a hand to restore the grassy woodlands and protect and enhance the biodiversity in them by carrying out weeding and planting activities. Weeding helps remove competition for native plants, and planting new vegetation will improve the health of the ecosystem as well as create important habitat for native birds and animals.
At some sites we will also be planting on the banks of creeks and dams to lessen erosion, which will make the waterways healthier and better habitat for the fish, frogs, and birds that live there.
What you can expect:
-Weeding
-Planting
-Erosion control activities
-Creating biodiversity in a nationally significant ecosystem
