The George Denton Park is a quiet community park in Aro Valley with walking tracks leading to regenerating native bush of Polhill Reserve and the Zealandia fenceline. The parks proximity to these reserves means its a great place to hear saddlebacks calling, see pairs of kereru making tree branches dip, and seeing kaka soar overhead.

We are looking for volunteers to improve habitat of New Zealand's rare birds by releasing weeds from recently planted native trees. Removing weeds will allow the trees to grow and become a continuation of the reserves, which encourages birds to spread to those areas. We are perking up the George Denton Park in the hopes that more members of the community will come out to enjoy the park and bird life.

Volunteers can enjoy a guided walk through the park after the day is done. To sign up, click "book now" below or send an email to wellington@cvnz.org.nz
