Woodstock - Located approximately 70km (50min) from Brisbane’s CBD, Woodstock is a 330acre property owned by Youth+ and used to support alternative education through Youth Enterprise Trust and Edmund Rice Foundation. Woodstock has an environmental regeneration plan aimed at revegetating corridors across the property allowing wildlife to co-exist with low-impact cattle farming. The property boasts substantial Albert River frontage with associated riparian rainforest as well as large tracts of revegetated Eucalypt Woodland which is home to plenty of native wildlife including endangered species – the Glossy Black Cockatoo and Koala. Ongoing revegetation tasks are aimed at providing habitat for these species as well as Richmond Birdwing Butterflies. Restoration activities include watering and maintenance of recent plantings (weeding and removal of guards), weed control and possible planting of Birdwing Butterfly vines.
