The seaside town of Anglesea is situated along the scenic Great Ocean Road on the Anglesea River. Attractive parks and gardens line the coastal foreshore and the Anglesea River, with Coogoorah Park at the end of River Reserve Road featuring a network of islands linked by boardwalks and bridges through wetlands.

Included is these parks is Anglesea Heath a 67 km2 conservation reserve managed by Parks Victoria.

Anglesea Heath is the richest and most diverse vegetation community in Victoria. Amazingly, about a quarter of Victoria's plant species can be found here including over 80 different types of orchids. Unfortunately the area has been invaded by many weeds such as Boneseed, Bluebell creeper and Sallow Wattle.

Learn weed identification and removal skills, meet likeminded individuals who also have a keen interest in their local environment, upgrade your resume with volunteering experience, help to restore and maintain this pristine land - so many great reasons to join us!

We will provide transport from South Geelong, departing at 8.00am and returning around 4pm. Or if you live local you can meet on-site by prior arrangement.
