Nau mai haere mai, you're invited to plant a forest at the heart of Wellington. The Town Belt was once cleared of it's korowai (cloak) of native vegetation to make way for pine trees and grazing. We have partnered with Rotary and Wellington City Council to restore the Town Belt by planting 65,000 native trees which will create a home for native birds, insects and reptiles. Our aim is to connect rangitahi, local residents, visitors and businesses to nature by creating a forest right at the heart of our city for people and wildlife to enjoy. We would love to have your help! Tasks vary seasonally but may include weeding, clearing predator traps, and tree planting (end of May - September)
