Join CVA as we work to re-instate koala habitat corridors through revegetation in the Wingecarribee Shire (Southern Highlands).

From Campbelltown to the Southern Highlands, the region south-west of Sydney is home to nationally important populations of koalas virtually on the city’s doorstep and these populations are under serious threat from development & the effects of suburban sprawl.

Over the past 2 years Conservation Volunteers Australia have helped local councils to collect critical data on the local koala populations, as well as restore key koala habitat within the Wingecarribee, Wollondilly and Campbelltown LGAs.

Now, join CVA in the next phase of this exciting program as we work to re-instate koala habitat corridors through revegetation in the Wingecarribee Shire (Southern Highlands).

The focus of this project will be to plant and maintain 2000 koala food and habitat trees.  This will likely involve weeding, watering and tree guard construction. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the regional restoration of koala habitat corridors.

PLEASE NOTE: We will be carrying out weed control and plant maintenance activities that require a reasonable level of fitness.  As we will be in the bush for most of the day, please be prepared to be away from the comforts of a bathroom.   There will also be a lenghty 1.5-2hr drive from Sydney

WEAR: sturdy, comfortable walking boots; long pants; long-sleeved shirt; hat; sunscreen; & insect repellent.

BRING: A backpack with water, morning tea, lunch & wet weather gear (optional).

If for any reason you can no longer make it on the day, or if you are going to be late and/or cannot find the meeting point, please contact the David on 0438 233 389.
