The South East Wetland Carers Network is a project set up in partnership with South East Local Land Services, WetlandCare Australia and Conservation Volunteers Australia. Our work will focus on the protection and restoration of wetland environments throughout the Illawarra.
River Road reserve plays a vital role in providing habitat for nationally and internationally significant fauna species. Our work here will assist Shoalhaven Council and their local Bushcare volunteers with protection of the dune environment that plays home to a number of migratory and resident birds who use this area’s vast resources. We will be helping with some weed removal activities, fauna surveys and planting activities to improve the health of this wetland system.
