Do you love nature and being outdoors?
Do you love birds?
Do you want to gain valuable experience in the field?
If you answered yes to any of these questions then we need your help! Sale Common wetlands covers approximately 300 hectares, of which 70% is freshwater marsh. The remaining area is covered by beautiful native red gum woodland and grasslands.
Sale Common Wetlands are under the RAMSAR convention. If you are lucky you may get to see Bar Tailed Godwits, Black Shoulder Kites, Royal Spoonbills, and Pink Eared Ducks! Some more common species include commorants, pelicans, black swans, and fairy-wrens. Whatever species you see you are sure to enjoy your day in the natural beauty of the wetland habitat as we remove weeds, carry out track mainenance, and carry out a bird survey.
If you require a free pick-up and drop-off from Traralgon Train station to and from Sale Common wetlands please advise staff on melbourne@conservationvolunteers.com.au
This day is kindly sponsored by ExxonMobil.
