CONSERVATION IMPACT:
Naturewise’s Eco Escapes supports vital conservation outcomes and projects across Australia. This program supports wildlife conservation at Tidbinbilla. A portion of this tour cost is donated directly back to Tidbinbilla’s endangered species breeding programs for the critically endangered Northern Corroboree Frog, the Southern Brush-tailed Rock-wallaby, and Eastern Bettong.

TRAVEL
Transfers from Canberra city to destination.

ITINERAY:
Day 1
Your adventure starts with a 45 minute journey from Canberra city to Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve. A quick comfort stop at the visitor centre before a guided tour of the Sanctuary taking in Waterfowl, Pelicans, Brolga and Platypus viewing.  After lunch we visit the Eucalypt Forest to see Koalas in the wild before our drive through  the hills of Jedbinbilla to Nil Desperandum, a restored pioneer homestead nestled in a hidden valley. Set up camp and time to relax and enjoy the local surrounds and European heritage. In the late afternoon we assist the Tidbinbilla Ranger staff with Potoroo feeding at the reserve. Finish the day with a camp oven dinner and stories under the stars. Optional spotlight walk in search of nocturnal wildlife around the camp. LD

Day 2
Breakfast and camp pack up before learning more about threatened species programs including the Northern Corroborre Frog and Brush-tailed rock wallaby.  Afterwards our final adventure takes us to either Camels Hump or Gibraltar Rock for breathtaking views across the Tidbinbilla Valley. Lunch and return to Canberra Approximate arrival time back to Canberra is 3.00pm -  city and hotel drop offs provided. Program Inclusions
Experienced guide, return transfers from Canberra in a sideward facing 4WD, entry into Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve, accommodation, meals as indicated, guided activities, behind the scenes experiences and a contribution to endangered species recovery programs at Tidbinbilla.  

Accommodation 
Nil Desperandum wilderness camp facilities are basic with a drop toilet, no shower and tank water for hand washing.  Stretcher bed, pillow and swag provided. Bring your own sleeping bag. Accommodation options include twin share pioneer homestead room or swag under the stars.
