As part of our Earth Assist School Program, Conservation Volunteers engages different primary and high schools around Western Australia to teach sustainability and conservation activities both in and out of the classroom.
Over the next couple of months we will be visiting different schools that have bushland sites within or adjacent to the school or have sustainability practices in place such as compost heaps and veggie gardens. Volunteers will be helping with activities that are sometimes too large or heavy for students to take part in.
Earlier in the year we visited this school to help native establish garden beds and compost heaps. These are used to educate the students in sustainability and permaculture. Today we will be turning the compost heaps and helping out in the native bushland that surrounds the school.
