Join our team of volunteers as we help in a Burnside biodiversity hotspot.
Beautiful Stonemine Reserve is part of the City of Burnside's Hills Face Zone Reserve network. It is covered by the City of Burnside Environment and Biodiversity Strategy and its purpose is primarily for conservation and passive recreation.
The site is an important remnant of Eucalyptus leucoxylon ssp leucoxylon / E. camaldulensis open woodland with a diverse understory. However the site has been badly weed invaded, by both grassy and bulbous weeds and woody weeds. The focus of the activities will be weed control to help give the native remnant vegetation a chance at providing important habitat for declining woodland birds and mammals.
Come and join us, meet new people and share your love of the outdoors.
