La Trobe University, Bundoora, is currently having a big drive to reduce their environmental footprint and reduce their impact on the environment. A large part of their push, is to improve their moat system to allow more stormwater usage for non-potable purposes. This will essentially lead to a reduction in total potable water use and make the university more water efficient, reducing the impact to the environment!
Activities will vary from week to week but may include, hand weeding, woody weed control, rubbish removal, planting of indigenous plants and maintenance (pruning) of existing vegetation.
Come down, volunteer and help Conservation Volunteers Australia and La Trobe University by getting your hands dirty through conservation and land management activities under several large red gums!!
