The South East Wetland Carers Network is a project set up in partnership with South East Local Land Services, WetlandCare Australia and Conservation Volunteers Australia. Our work will focus on the protection and restoration of wetland environments throughout the Illawarra.
Korrungulla Wetland is an annex of the Wollongong Botanic Garden and is nestled on the eastern foreshore of Lake Illawarra, located at Primbee. Providing a nesting ground for a number of bird species this fresh water wetland complex has a great range of native plant species also. Our work around the established native plants will allow greater regeneration and provide a safe haven for the regionally significant fauna of the area. We have the opportunity to conduct Water Quality Testing and other monitoring activities on this site.
