WORLD WETLANDS DAY AND THE LAUNCH OF REVIVE OUR WETLANDS at Patawalonga Creek.
Enjoy a fun day out between 9am (8:30am if meeting in the city) and 1pm to help us care for this unique part of Adelaide.
Join us for some hands-on conservation activities including hand-watering seedlings and an informative guided tour of Patawalonga Creek. The day will be concluded with the launch of Conservation Volunteers' Revive Our Wetlands Program and a special light lunch.
Patawalonga Creek was once a diverse watercourse running through the Adelaide plains which has now been contained in many places through the suburbs in concrete canals. There is, however, one part that you can still see some of the original Adelaide Plains creekside where now remains a significant remnant of the Swamp Paperbark plant community.
We would love you to come and join us and celebrate World Wetlands Day!
