Join us for revegetation activities near the village in the rainforest, Kuranda! This project will see volunteers supporting Kuranda Envirocare and local community revegetation sites. Activities will include transplanting Lomandra (a hardy and important rainforest plant) and weed control around existing plantings. Weeds will be removed by hand (no chemicals) as this is a frog friendly site!
Begin the day with the grand tour of the local Kuranda Envirocare nursery, and see the amazing work this group and its dedicated local volunteers have been doing for almost 20 years in the region. You will also have an educational talk about some of the threatened species in the area, including the Kuranda Tree Frog and the Cassowary.
Groups have been working here over many years to establish good wildlife corridors in and around Kuranda to support the Cassowary and other unique wildlife of the area.
